At A Glance: Bahamas

Have I ever mentioned on SA how incredibly blessed I feel? I have many amazing things in my life, but one of the all time best parts is that I have not one, but two big, supportive extended families with lots of aunts, uncles and cousins. My spring term in school ended and I was able to join a number of those family members in the Bahamas for a vacation. Not a bad way to start off my summer break, right?

I’ll admit that I had expectations for this trip. I wanted sun, lots of time in the water, tropical adult beverages, and time lounging with family. While all of those things occurred in abundance, what I didn’t expect was how much time I would get to do animal watching. The resort had amazing aquariums and a day long boat ride around the area allowed us to hang with iguanas, feed sting rays(!), fish stalk (known to most as snorkeling) in beautiful water with a variety of wild life and swim with lemon sharks. Yep, I said swim with sharks!!!! It was crazy. I went snorkeling and a lemon shark was five feet away from me, blocking my path to shore. There I was hanging out in the ocean waiting for the shark to swim past me so I could get to the shore. The adrenaline rush was amazing.

As for taking pictures I feel like I didn’t get pictures of all the really cool stuff because I was too busy actually doing them. I did have to refrain from putting up a dozen pictures of iguanas on here. This post could have just been called, “Look, I fell in love with taking pictures of iguanas!”. Yeah, I get a little animal crazy sometimes.

It makes me feel good to know I’m not the only one who gets animal crazy! Although I feel misled; you said you would refrain from putting a dozen iguana pictures, so I figured I’d get to see at least 3-4. They’re so darn neat! Glad you had a good time! Miss you!

Laura, if I had know you would have loved to see more iguana pictures I would have been all over it. Yay for the animal craziness! Keep up the cat photos on fb.

Wow this all looks like a dream! Wish we could have joined everyone, but I am so glad you got to go! I am so grateful for our family too. <3

What!? How funny! Oh and I’m not that cool, I was totally scared when I saw the shark swim by, but you know now I’ll brag about it for-ever!
