I. AM. SO. EXCITED!

Portland’s Redux is hosting an embroidery show and I can’t wait to check out all the creative energy that has gone into making the pieces there. Embroidery is one of those crafts that I think is still seen by many as an older generational activity (or maybe that is still all of crafting?). Either way, it is something that I have really been getting into for the last year and I can’t wait to see other artists put their modern spin on it.

I love how Redux has explained the event:

The domestic arts have a long history of resourcefulness often salvaging and reclaiming materials, turning scraps into treasures for future generations. The 24 artists showcased here will take needlecraft back to those roots incorporating repurposed materials while adding a contemporary twist to the art. Curated by Pamela Davis.
