A “Small” Announcement

Okay, that’s a lie…it’s really a very big announcement.

I’m pregnant!

Maternity1

Baby is kicking me as I write this, so I think he’s exciting that I’m finally sharing the news with you. Yup, that’s right: it’s a boy!

Some details:

This will be our first baby, and actually the first grandchild on both sides of my family.

We know that he won’t be named “Dale Jr.,” but we are waiting to meet him before deciding on a name. (Our dear friend and guest blogger, Jessica Stokke, insists that he be named “Vesuvius,” but that’s not happening, either. Sorry, Jessica.)

He’s due on June 21st, which means that I’m now in my third trimester. Overall, I’ve been feeling pretty good, but pregnancy is strange. Luckily, I was only plagued with nausea and lots of fatigue in the first trimester. The second trimester made me feel like I was on a daily dose of happy drugs, which was quite lovely. Now that I’m in the end stretch, the fatigue and nausea is starting to creep back. Plus hip cramps. Plus back pain. Plus some unexpected mood swings. Plus an inability to sleep for more than an hour and a half at a time. But I’m close…so close…to meeting this little guy!

I’m looking forward to being one of those gushing new moms, so you better be ready to see a lot of photos of our preparations for the little one, as well as the kid himself, in coming months. One post I am really looking forward to sharing with you soon is the nursery; it’s already the coolest room in our house.

It’s a time for a lot of change for me, but I am unbelievably excited about it!

Wow! Linz! Congrats on this oh so monumental news! I can’t wait to see how Sweet Athena grows and changes with you and your little one. I only imagine life (and blogging) will get richer and richer. Here’s to a healthy and happy rest of your pregnancy.

(Vesuvius? LOVE it! Suvie for short? Ha ha. I’m only have joking, by the way.)

I’m so excited for you!!! And I can’t wait to read all about him and see pictures! Congratulations on doing the craziest thing ever – creating an actually human being inside your body. You are legitimately turning food into a person. That totally weirds me out.
