In September, Murphy and I traveled to Washington state to visit family and attend the Hops and Crops Brew Festival at Mary Olson Farm. Located in Auburn, Washington, the 1880s farmstead serves as a living history museum, and includes a barn, a farmhouse, a weaving house, an old orchard, and farm animals. While Murph couldn’t enjoy the “hops” part of the festival, we both had a lot of fun walking around and looking at the land and its buildings. With the family history kick I’ve been on, it was particularly interesting to walk around a farm that may have been like ones all of my farmer family members operated back in the 1800s. Fresh air, beer, and goats! Not sure there’s a better way to welcome Fall.

Friends since middle school, we continue to inspire each other to be creative in our big, adult lives. Each season we take on a new theme to guide our crafting, cooking, and creating. We're up for trying anything, and things are bound to get messy. But that's just the way we like it.
