This month’s desktop background (available for personal use for free!) celebrates my favorite thing about May: the opening of the farmer’s market. Our town’s market comes back this Wednesday and I’m as excited as a kid right before the holidays.
Inspired by Depression-era posters created through the Works Progress Administration, the design features (mostly) spring produce: asparagus, lettuce, a radish, garlic…and a tomato. : ) I’ve been especially infatuated with WPA posters after borrowing Posters for the People: Art of the WPA from the library. I loved flipping through the beautiful designs so much I forgot about food I had in the oven and almost burned the kitchen down. It’s that good.
Forever and ever,
