I love how fresh fruit can be used in just about every meal, including appetizers. Here is a simple fruit crostini involving a basil syrup, goat cheese and roasted strawberries from Confections of a Foodie Bride. I changed it up slightly in an effort to use the oven even less. I chopped the strawberries small, instead of leaving them whole, so I could roast them for only 15 minutes, instead of an hour. I also chilled the strawberries, making every bite light and refreshing.

I like the way you adjusted the recipe. roasting anything for one hour is unacceptable.
