Being pregnant, something I can’t smugly say is that I haven’t missed alcohol at all. I do. I especially miss how a fancy cocktail can make me feel all special and grown up. I’m not even sure if it’s really the liquor that makes me feel relaxed or if it’s the sense of indulging that does the trick. Anyway, when Jess challenged me to make up a pregnancy-friendly cocktail, I was up to trying it out.

I tried out a few different flavor combinations and quickly realized that a key to a satisfying mocktail is incorporating an unexpected taste. While I can’t have vodka or tequila, I found that herbs can provide a similar depth of flavor. Thus, the Blood-Orange Rosemary Spritzer was born.
